We just launched a new site for Colomb Construction today www.colombbrothersconstruction.com that sells new construction homes in the Hammond, LA area. Originally the client had a template site that had very limited functions and a rather poor set of graphics and colors.

Their new site is 10 pages and includes great family images as well as some beatitful shots of homes and interiors. They really wanted somethign to showcase their product better to prospective buyers and I think the new site provides a much better look at what they do.

The site also has map features and mortgage payment scenarios to show the affordability of their homes.

Each month we like to check in our clients search engine rankings to see how our campaigns are doing. This month I’m pleased to report we’ve making good progress with 2 of our recent projects.

The first one is for the Landry and Swarr Law Firm www.landryswarr.com who handles asbestos and mesothelioma cases in Louisiana. We launched a re-designed site for them in April as well as an SEO campaign focused on getting them ranked for key phrases such as “Louisiana asbestos attorney” and “Louisiana mesothelioma attorney.”

Our SEO campaign is focues on link building and adding optimized content to the site. And after just 90 days they are now ranking on the first page of Google for 8 of these key phrases – and in some places the top organic spot.

The second project is for a FBT Film & Entertainment, a local investment bank that handles film financing and tax credits for Louisiana films. We launched a new site for them back in April on a brand new domain name and are seeing similar results to the Landry project.

They are already showing up on page 1 of Google in the 2nd or 3rd position even with a brand new domain name! I’m especially pleased with the results from this campaign as the client reports getting thier first leads from the site during the last month – all this from organic SEO only on a new domain name.

Just about everyone agrees that SEO results take roughly 3-6 months to start showing up so I look forward to seeing what the next few months reveal for these campaigns. Both clients run great businesses and are great people. They do good business and treat their customers with respect. I love helping this type of client succeed.

Yesterday a big project finally came to a close. We launched a re-designed website for Our Lady of the Lake Church (www.ollparish.info) where I attend church.

The old site was pretty hard to find and didn’t have much content on it. It was mostly forms and links.

The new site has an updated look and a welcoming message to users. We wanted to put as much information about the church and its activities online as possible – and we wound up with nearly 40 pages total! I think it would be a good idea to add an online donation function at some point but we’ll wait to get any feedback or changes to the new site before proceeding.

One of the neatest parts of the new site is the new photo work done by a good friend of mine Abby Miller. Our Lady of the Lake has a really beautiful campus located in downtown Mandeville, LA. The church itself is over 100 years old and they have quite a few majestic live oak trees and other beautiful landscaping.
